36th UKMi Professional Development Seminar (2-day)

The UKMi Practice Development Seminar (PDS) is an annual 2 day event which aims to provide a practice update and professional development forum for Medicines Information Pharmacists across the UK. This year for the first time the seminar will also include a focus for formulary pharmacists. The programme covers a wide variety of clinical, professional and management topics which focus on topical issues that have relevance for MI and formaulary pharmacists working at local and regional level. The sessions are delivered in a range of formats including formal plenary sessions and more practical workshop sessions. There is also an opportunity for delegates to submit medicines information/formulary research which is displayed as posters during the PDS.

Themes for this year include -

Using evidence for medicines management focussing on the development of NHS Evidence, NeLM and the Cochrane Library, Quality and productivity challenges with an update from Martin Stephens, (National Clinical Director for Hospital Pharmacy) An update on the latest MI research which has been undertaken Application of the advanced and specialist practice MI framework.
